Welcome to Park Primary
Walk in Strong, Walk out Stronger
Park Primary School in Colne is quickly establishing itself as one of the leading primary schools in the area, and indeed the county, with school recently being described as having one of the leading EYFS departments in the whole of Lancashire. At Park Primary School we take great pride in our learning environments and have high standards across school. Each half term Mrs Berry and Mrs Greenwood monitor learning environments and take photos of good practise to motivate others. We hope you enjoy looking at some of the learning that is taking place in our school.
We have added a new page for parents about how Park Primary support and encourage all pupils to read from the moment we start to work with them. By the time they leave Park Primary they are equipped not only to further their studies at high School but to have established a real love of reading in them.
Park Primary use a Reading Spine that lists all the books the children at different ages will read this school year. Not only that but we also suggest books that Parents could encourage pre-school children to read so that they have a head start when they join us in September each year.
There are suggestions for parent help and a useful download of this years Reading Spine for you to read through.
Head Girl & Boy
Say hello to our Head Girl Olivia and Head Boy Alton
Many children play on apps and social media which are not age appropriate. At Park, we place a huge emphasis on E-Safety and keeping safe on the internet. 6E have recently delivered an E-Safety assembly to Key Stage Two and each class, across the school, has taken part in E-Safety activities.
However, it seems that some children are still accessing apps or methods of social media with age restrictions of 13+.
Here are parental guides for some of the most popular social media apps and games (click image to download pdf). Please take time to speak to your children about these.
