The children at Park were treated to a fun filled day as part of World Book Day yesterday. They all arrived in pyjamas in the morning with their favourite books and carried out lots of enjoyable activities throughout the day. A particular favourite was the ‘Where’s Wally?’ game organised by Mrs Greenwood which had even the adults scratching their heads!
Overall, £220 was raised which will go towards getting the school new resources.
This morning, the World Book Day celebrations continued with 4T’s class assembly. The children shared with everyone the importance of reading and how enjoyable it can be. This was well received by the children and the parents who attended (4T did a fantastic job and Miss Bartlett and myself are extremely proud!). As part of the assembly, the children also announced the winners of the recent Get Caught Reading Challenge. There were hundreds of entries, so picking a winner was an unenviable task, but Lily Bailey (1M) and Amber Hawkins (3T) just edged it and won themselves new books.
