On November 9th-11th, 38 Year 5 children visited Winmarleigh Hall with myself, Miss Ellis, Mr Beechey and Mrs Whalley. As soon as we got there, the children played games on the sports fields and got ready for their first activity, whether this be fencing, high ropes, the vertical challenge or den building.

On Wednesday evening, the children created group dances, played team building games and challenged themselves to build a protective layer for a water balloon, so when the water balloon was dropped from a height, it would not break.

After a 7 am start ready for breakfast on Thursday, the children were ready for an activity-packed day. As well as experiencing challenges that other groups had experienced the previous day, all children were ready to have a go at canoeing, the giant swing, problem solving and survival forest school. Later that day, the children enjoyed a disco, party games and table tennis, with more than enough glow sticks and chocolate buttons.

Early on the Friday, the children packed their bags and enjoyed the final two activities before getting on the coach back home. I’m sure all the children couldn’t wait to tell everyone about their trip. After a fun-filled 3 days, I hope the children got a goodnight’s sleep after all the secret sharing and knock-a-door runs on Mr Beechey.

I’m so proud of all the children for doing a fantastic job at representing the school and embracing the challenges they were faced.
