This week, our devoted Dance group received some fantastic news – they have received a wild card entry to compete at Blackpool Winter Gardens in the Lancashire Schools Dance County Finals.
It seems a long time ago now, but it was only last week (on Tuesday 19th April at the Hippodrome) when the girls performed an almost perfect routine of their version of ‘Wonderland’ by Taylor Swift. The technical level of the performance was very high and the synchronization of the group was fantastic. They really looked the part with their spades and hearts t-shirts battling over little Alice (Libby from 4T).
After such a high intensity and almost flawless performance, the girls were absolutely gutted when the winning announcement was made at the end of the night and it wasn’t Park, such was theirs and their teachers belief that they had done enough to secure top spot. Sadly the judges didn’t agree, however, and Park went home with their tails tucked firmly between their legs. It has to be said, though, how, despite the narrow loss, the children showed real resilience, accepting the result and getting straight back to practising for their next curtain raiser performance at Burnley College – which they completed in style on Wednesday night 27th April.
Onwards and upwards they say, so after this mornings surprise announcement during Achievement assembly, at which the girls gasped and screamed through shock and excitement, the girls will get back into focus again and get practising for the finals on the 18th May – just over two weeks away!
Well done girls, you got the credit you deserved EVENTUALLY!
