Over the past couple of weeks, Mr Farry, Mr Swarbrick, Mrs Lucas and Mrs Scott have been putting their training skills to the sword by completing ‘Talk for Writing’ techniques gleaned from a recent CPD.
The children use actions for punctuation to read aloud, especially when reading direct speech. This is acting as a real hook for the children, who love making the gestures and accompanying noises!
They are even confident enough the lead the class and play the role of the teacher. Most importantly, they are remembering to use these actions in their writing!
“Well done!” boasted Mr Farry proudly to the class.
