WHAT AN AMAZING DAY our Park children have had today.  It’s that time of the year again folks and after a few years absence due to COVID, we were back on the wagon today with another action packed Sports Day.

This is always a special day in our calendar and today was no different and lived up to every expectation and more.  This year, we decided to have KS2 and KS1 events at different times (forced a little due to current restrictions).  This meant the KS2 children had a full 2 1/2 hours to participate in a range of fun and engaging activities including: tyres, egg & spoon, football, hurdles, sacks, three legged and others.

The children have had so much fun and used up so much energy; they were certainly ready for their lunch.  There are some very funny and lovely photos to look at.

Sticking to tradition, we ended the day with the 50m sprints per year groups (boys and girls separate).

We have the results and will give out prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place next week.

Finally we had the teachers races.  First up was the ladies’ race with Ms. Ellis the winner, who pipped Miss DeCurtis to the post at the last.  Then, it was the much anticipated men’s race; lots of debate could be had about jump starts and NOT hearing the whistle, but the deserved winner was our very own Sports Coach, Mr. Burton and what a fitting tribute to his departure from Park after 3 years service – well done pal and thanks for everything you’ve brought to Park!  You will be remembered with a fond heart!
