Yesterday, eight children represented Park at a tennis competition at Pendle Vale. The competition, which was played in howling winds, was split into two age-groups: year 3/4 and year 5/6.
For some of our children, it was their first time at a tennis event; for some, it was the first time they’d ever played even a practice match! All of the children represented Park with a positive, competitive spirit, and this was rewarded with a second-place finish in both events. We were very close to winning gold too; the 3/4 event went right down to the last match!
Every one of them got better with every match and played the matches in the right spirit. Well done, all of you – you did us proud! Maybe next year we will be on the top step of the podium!
