Dear Parents,

Thank you for your patience and support this week. As you know it has been a difficult time for everyone at Park Primary. We are very grateful to Sacred Heart School for accommodating us while they were on their Easter break, allowing learning to continue.

Over the holidays the condition of the high windows in Key Stage Two was being investigated and some dry rot was discovered. Throughout this week the site has been made safe by propping some of the affected areas. Dry rot in a building of this age and construction is not unusual and we are fortunate to have experts from Lancashire County Council (LCC), who are overseeing the work to ensure that the school is safe for us to use.

On Monday 16th April

EYFS, Y1 and Y2 will all be in Key Stage One.

Y6E will continue to work in the Out of School Club Room

Y6B will continue to work in Miss Moore’s Classroom.

Packed lunches will be provided for those children who would like a school dinner. All staff will be in school to support children with their learning.

Unfortunately Y3, Y4 and Y5 will not be able to attend school on Monday due to Key Stage Two being deep cleaned.

On Tuesday 17th April all classes will return to their usual rooms and school will operate as normal.

Throughout this term PE will take place outside, weather permitting. Please ensure your child has appropriate PE kit and trainers. On Tuesday lunch will return to hot dinners.

When the children return to school on Tuesday in Key Stage Two, the hall will not look as beautiful as usual! There will be scaffolding and netting in place which complies with Health and Safety Regulations. This is to allow access for LCC Contractors outside of school hours.

A programme of works will be planned over the coming weeks and when we have more information we will share this with you all.

Many thanks for your continued support and understanding during this busy week. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday.

Kind Regards,

Mrs S Midgley
