What an afternoon! Our cross country runners took on all the local schools at the annual inter schools cross country race, held at Holt House, and had to compete with not only well over hundred competitors, in both the boys and girls races, but also the sweltering heat!

The girls were the first off and, despite still being in year four, Leah was our leading chance and she didn’t disappoint! Storming around the course, she finished third overall and was backed up with great runs from Gracie in 6th,  Hollie in 7th and Grace in 21st to finish second girls team overall. For finishing in the top 25, these four girls will now represent Pendle at Blackburn.

The boys were next up and, after being inspired by the girls, put in some solid performances. Shayne led the way home in 15th followed by Rhys in 23rd and Michael in 24th. These three will join the girls in representing Pendle at Blackburn next month. The fourth counter for the boys, Bartosz in 38th, ensured that the boys finished 4th overall- a solid result.

Overall, a well done to all who took part and thank you to all the parents who came to support their children.

My name is Mr Thompson and I am the class teacher in year 5 as well as the PE subject leader. This is going to be my second year teaching at Park and it is one that I am really looking forward to. Away from the classroom, I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the gym and taking part in a variety of sports.
