Last night 40 members of the school choir performed at Colne Municipal Hall in the first heat of “The Last Choir Singing”.

Eight schools went head to head, each singing two songs, one of which the judges had selected – Open Your Eyes. Our school were last on in the first half and had a nervous wait until the Compere Duncan Heather introduced Park onto the stage.

We were taken back stage after the performance and had a video link so we were able to watch the remaining four choirs perform.

We were entertained by Jordan Drinkwater who performed a collection of songs which the children thoroughly enjoyed. This was followed by the announcement of the top three prizes.

Park Primary won the first prize and we are proud to be the regional heat winner of The Last Choir Singing Competition 2017. We were also presented with a cheque for £250 to go towards musical resources.

Mrs Easton, Mrs Greenwood, Bethany Gemson and Isabelle Jarvis were interviewed by BBC Radio Lancashire, the interview will be broadcast today at 3.30pm. Bethany said “this has been an amazing
experience”. Isabelle told the radio, “I am just relieved!”

Many thanks to Mrs Easton, Miss Wilkinson and Mrs Greenwood. I am one very proud Headteacher!
