Tonight, the boys (and Scarlett!) travelled to Fisher More for the first round of Pendle’s C.V.L Football League. Even though the weather was definitely not on our side, the team were as passionate and determined as ever!

First match – Lord Street. It was a tight start with both sides hitting the post in the first five minutes, but with some nice footwork from Jack down the wing, followed by a cross into the box, Harvey finally finds the back of the net – 1-0 to Park! 5 minutes to go and a free kick was awarded to Park just past the halfway line. Tyler goes for the cross into the box and miraculously it finds the top left hand corner! What a GOAL!!! (2-0 to Park). The last minute of the game saw some nice play by Lord street and the game finished 2-1!

The second game against Marsden was a very tough game for us! The weather was coming down hard and both teams battled all the way almost until the end without finding a goal… then at the last minute Marsden’s striker got through our defence and scored. The game finished 1-0 to Marsden.

Last game – Trawden. Again another difficult match for Park – it was neck and neck until the last 5 minutes. Determined for a goal, Oliver makes a run past Trawden’s defence, passes to Jack and… GOAL! The game finished 1-0 to Park!

A successful start for Park in the C.V.L League. I would like to thank all the parents who came to support, also a massive ‘Well done!’ to Park’s Mixed Football Team!
