No Pens Wednesday has come a week early to Park Primary ( due to our cinema trip next week). Today the children have put down their pens and concentrated on speaking and listening activities. Along with the ICAN trust the day raises awareness of speech, language and communication needs. Children enjoyed activities to enhance their vocabulary , role playing, practical maths games, story telling and origami ! Although there was no written work teachers felt the children still gained as much learning from the day as normal. Communication is the core of what we do at home, in school and in work.

I have been teaching at Park for over twenty six years – I may have taught some of your parents! I have spent many years teaching in Key Stage 1 but more recently in Year 5 and 6, and now Year 3. I am also Assistant Head Teacher and SENCo. This means I manage the Inclusion Team and Special Educational Needs at Park Primary School.
