Our cross country team made the short walk up to Holt House on Thursday for the annual inter-schools cross country competition. This is always a well supported event and entries were in excess of 100 children for both the boys and girls race’s, with the top 25 children going on to represent Pendle at the Lancashire Schools competition.
The girls were first off, and all placed really well, with Cadie leading them home in 15th, Grace 18th, Hollie 28th and Isobel just behind in 29th. This was an amazing effort considering two of the girls still have 2 years left in this competition!
The boys race was next up and Lewis performed unbelievably to storm to victory overall! Leading at half way, he pulled away from the rest of the field impressively to win by a comfortable margin. He was backed up by Lochlan in 30th (despite a heavy fall!), Shayne in 33rd and Bartosz in 35th.
A big well done to the entire cross country team, you were a credit to the school!

My name is Mr Thompson and I am the class teacher in year 5 as well as the PE subject leader. This is going to be my second year teaching at Park and it is one that I am really looking forward to. Away from the classroom, I enjoy socialising with friends, going to the gym and taking part in a variety of sports.
