Today, eight children went to Pendle Vale to represent the school in a tennis competition, and did us proud with their performances.

After arriving early to get some practice in, all the children played really well in their matches in sweltering conditions. Cadie-Mae, Grace, Lochlan and Owen ended up coming joint-fouth in a very tight year 5/6 competition. Bartosz, Luca, Tia and Ruby, playing for the year 3/4 team, came very close to winning their event and came an agonising second!

The children’s achievements are made even more impressive when you consider that they only started playing eight days ago, and the team that won included players who play at a county level!

Miss Whittaker and I were very proud of the way they played and conducted themselves on the court. Well done, children!
