Our year 5/6 children made the short trip to Colne Cricket Club on Thursday to take part in the Pendle Schools Cricket Tournament. In the first game, they came across a Laneshaw Bridge side containing many county level players and, despite putting up a good fight, they suffered a narrow defeat. Next up, was St. Michaels. Our children had clearly learnt lessons from the first game and put in a great showing, coming out victorious in a tight game. The children went into the last game against Christchurch knowing a good run total would give them second in the competition overall, behind the impressive Laneshaw Bridge. Our children didn’t disappoint, running out impressive winners to claim second place overall! Well done.
