Today, we have had an extra assembly trying to raise extra awareness of the negative effect of sugary foods.  Having received some ‘Change4Life’ resources to help the children understand the topic, the children completed a game in class informing them actually how much sugar is in some food products and what healthy and yummy alternatives there are as a substitute.

In conjunction with the topic, we also relaunched the Mile Run in the assembly, with the new format incorporating a relay style race (ensuring every child is running to their full capacity), with the team showing best collaboration and effort gaining some dojos for their house team!  Class 5F trialled the revamped Mile Run this week, and as can be seen, they have had a fun time burning lots of energy along the way!

Hi, my name is Mr Farry and I’m a Year 5 teacher. After spending a few years at Park, I consider myself very much part of a great team in a great school.I am now the P.E coordinator, which is great as I am a very active person and love sport. This is reflected in my class, whereby I ensure the children receive lots of physical activity in a week.
