Keira (5T) and Olivia (4B) have had their pieces of writing selected to go against the best writers in primary schools across Yorkshire and Lancashire, at the The Broughton Hall Children’s Literature Festival.
Both children will have their writing published but are in with a chance of scooping the overall title, with the years 3 and 4 winner being announced on Saturday 29th September and the years 5 and 6 winner being announced the following day.
The Broughton Hall Children’s Literature Festival will take place 27-30th September in Skipton, Yorkshire, and feature 65 authors, poets, illustrators, storytellers and animators. Authors who have signed up to take part include Clare Balding, Sir Chris Hoy, Alexander Armstrong, Chris Bradford, Robin Stevens, MG Leonard and Abi Elphinstone along with Kiran Millwood Hargrave, Ross Welford, Holly Smale and Sally Gardner. There will also be a scarecrow trail, based on book characters, and we will be entering a scarecrow of our own in the coming weeks!
