On Monday, Reception and Year 1 were very lucky and were visited by a real life author! Diane Hull, who wrote the book Be Happy To Be You, read her story to the children and did some activities with them. Activities included acting out the story as a class, discussing what talents we all have, and making collages of the main character, Baby Bird.
As you can see from the photos, the children really enjoyed their sessions! It was interesting and exciting to meet someone who has only recently become an author after teaching for a number of years. She may even come back in the summer after the launch of her next book – fingers crossed!
