This morning, we had a special visitor arrive, all the way from Edinburgh.  Ash Dickinson (Poet & Author) led a whole school assembly regaling to the children about previous experiences in his life and how they link to Poetry.  He then very skillfully entertained the children with an array of poems cited from memory.

After his introductions, Ash then spent the rest of the day working with a range of year groups in both KS1 and KS2.  Both the children and Ash have had a wonderful time creating some very imaginative poetry.  The receptionist have drawn some of their ideas and the Year 3 children recapped the Stone Age and wrote a poem based on that and our five senses: taste, touch, smell, sight and hearing.

All in all a super day and we are very grateful that Ash was able to grace us with his presence for the day.
