This morning, a few children from the Cross Country club, completed a 4 mile route from Park Primary to Park High via Ballgrove Park.  The 10 children were carrying the Commonwealth baton as part of it tour through Pendle in preparation for the Commonwealth Games this summer in Birmingham.

The children were shocked and amazed when they arrived at Park High as there was a guard of honour to meet them from what seemed like the whole school.  It was a rousing reception which ended at the back entrance of the school, where there was a brass band playing to welcome the runners.

A special thank you and many plaudits need to be passed on to Park High for such a fantastic welcome to our children!

Well done to Tom, Marcus, Eleanor, William, Sophie, Lily, Jordan, Elena and Caleb for their efforts on an enjoyable morning run.  What a great start to the day!
