Class 6T were busy classifying small river invertebrates and fish this morning, as part of a study that they have been carrying out looking into the water quality of our local river. They class were pleased to discover that the presence of stone loach and european bullheads was an indicator of good water quality! We also discovered some invasive species in the river- signal crayfish- and have discussed the impact that this may have on the ecosystem.
