Year Five Meet M.G Leonard!

Our Year Five children were treated to a morning with children’s author Maya Leonard today! The creator of ‘Beetle Boy’ talked to the children about coming up with original ideas, how she became fascinated by beetles (after many years of being terrified of them!), the amazing facts her research as made her aware of and her plans for the future- including an upcoming Netflix series! She then showed the children some of her pet beetles- which were extremely impressive- before doing personalised signings for those children who had purchased her books.

Maya, and many other children’s authors, will be at the Broughton Hall Children’s Literature Festival this weekend. Our Reading Ambassadors, along with our ‘Yorkshire’s Best Young Writers’ competition winners, will be attending but it would be great to see as many parents and children from our school there as possible, as it looks like it’s going to be a really inspiring event!
