Year 6 Sporting Superstars

On Thursday 22nd June, both our Y6 classes visited the Steven Burke Cycling Hub in Barrowford to compete in a “Duathlon”. The event pitted the children against each other in a continuous race, consisting of a 250m, a 500m cycle, then another 250m run.

The children displayed exemplary behaviour throughout (despite many organisational hiccups!) and showed great determination and perseverance in completing the event, they did myself and the rest of the staff very proud – and who knows, we may have unearthed the next Steven Burke!

Special mentions must also go to our top Burke, Lewis O’Neill, who achieved the fastest time of the day, as well as Reagan Denton-Wainman and Grace Robinson who won their respective races. Well done!
