Today, Year 5 were treated to a special visit from two engineers from Hycrome Areospace in Burnley. They spoke to the children all about the different types of engineering, which consist of Civil, Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical. The children also had the chance to complete some small challenges ,they actually give to people they interview!
Mr Hudson (an apprentice) told the children his story and how he came to be an engineer. He spoke about all the different routes you can take and all the different benefits they comes with.
The children then got an extra special treat because Mr Young and Mr Hudson brought in a mechanical arm! Using a laptop they were able to get the arm to pick up different things such as marshmallows!
We then had a chance to ask the engineers some questions and the children came up with some brilliant ones.
Everyone certainly enjoyed the visit.
