The Badgers and Hedgehogs were shocked to discover that our classroom had been “turned upside down” with the discovery of numerous footprints. The children became ‘detectives’ to discover who had been into our classroom and made such as mess. We decided to use cubes to measure each footprint and used the key vocabulary of ‘longest, shortest, shorter and longer’. After lots of investigating, the children discovered that the prints were from the animals from ’The Gruffalo’. The children created their own posters to try to ask the animals to come back to explain. We finally solved the mystery as to who had knocked all of the chairs over, it was the owl as he had a print that was 6 cubes long.
