Peace Walk and Festival of Culture 2018 – Saturday 30th June

Building Bridges Pendle would like to present two major events taking place on Saturday 30th June which will bring together members of our community in the spirit of shared identity and a celebration of our cultural contribution to the diversity of Pendle;
10.30am to 11.30am: Peace Walk – Colne, Nelson and Brierfield
11.30am to 4.00pm: Festival of Culture – Nelson Town Centre
11.30am to 4.00pm: Festival of Culture – Nelson Town Centre
Peace Walk on the theme of ‘Celebrating Culture’; two groups of people from our Pendle community will be involved and follow routes along main roads and scenic canal towpaths. One group setting off from Colne Town Centre and the second group from the Pendleside Hospice in Brierfield; both Peace Walk groups will converge at the Nelson Shuttle (opposite Nelson Santander) and take part in the;
Festival of Culture; A family fun-day which will celebrate people, environment and culture. On site we will have live music, an interactive art zone for parents and children, funfair rides, storytelling and craft workshops, bouncing castle, emergency service vehicles, food court and Talking Society activities.
Please forward publicity via your networks and encourage friends and family to take part in what promises to be a very exciting event.
Groups and families are welcome to contact us at the office to receive a flag making kit to bring on the Peace Walk.
