On Friday Year 4 enjoyed finding out about how the Egyptians mummified their pharaohs ready for the afterlife. Logan very kindly volunteered to be mummified and the children helped to cleanse his body with water from the River Nile before covering him in natron to preserve him. Then we painted his face so he looked his best for his next life and wrapped him in linen, not forgetting to add the amulets to protect him from bad spirits. Finally we added the death mask so he was ready to go into the sarcophagus. Afterwards we created Tutankhamun masks from plasticine. A great lesson by our Park archaeologists.

We mummified Logan !
