Tonight, Park’s girls Year 5/6 Football team travelled to Fisher More to take part in the Girls’ Danone Football Competition and what a night it was for the girls!
First match – Church – it was a tough game, both teams battling for goal and neither ended up finding it in the end (0-0 finish)… Second game, it was tough but the girls were determined to find the back of the net in this game! With a bit of teamwork, determination and some nice footwork by Leah … GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! (5-0 finish for Park!).
Last match – Earby – You could really feel the cold kicking in now, but our girls were kicking harder! It was a back and forth game with both teams getting shots on target, but with a couple of good saves from Megan and some motivation from the crowd we found the back of the net! Finishing the game with a 3-0 win for Park!
The event finished a little earlier than we thought, so we decided to have a friendly re-match against Church. We knew this was going to be tough but we built up the energy for one last game, and what a game! Again, both teams battling for goal but this time, with a couple of nice runs from Leah, the result ended a little differently … (2-0 win for Park!)
I think it’s safe to say that the girls smashed their debut! I would like to thank all the parents who came to support – it meant such a lot to the girls. I would also like to say another massive ‘Well Done!’ to Park’s Year 5/6 Girls Football Team… Ready for training tomorrow girls!
