Yesterday afternoon, Class 3F tried out a bit of cave painting using chalks.  The children discussed what we can learn from the prehistoric paintings such as: how people lived and hunted…  They also discussed the traditional methods of hunting thousands of years ago and came up with some excellent answers.  Spears, axes and catapults were mentioned as well as setting traps to catch animals.  They also discussed the animal types which existed and hunted such as: mammoths, Saber Tooth tigers, sloths, horses and deer.

The children then experienced what it might be light to try to draw using basic materials in awkward and uncomfortable positions.  It was a lively and enjoyable afternoon, if not a little noisy for poor Mr Farry!
