Final activity day in Buxton. Today, the children visited Poole’s Cavern. They were given a guided tour inside the 800ft length cave. They learned all about how natural cave formations were created as well as the fascinating features formed within them. They saw stalagmites, stalagmites and other watery and slimy looking features. They got a little spooked when the lights went out but they managed to hold back the tears.
Afterwards, the children ascended the nearby forest and made a fire together, this was followed by toasting marshmallows. Some fundamental life skills were taught which the children will hopefully take home with them!
