Today, the Year 4 & 5 children have been dragged up and down many beautiful hills, moorland and woodlands exploring nature around Great Hucklow (where they have staying for the week).

The hike, which commenced at 9am this morning, after a hearty breakfast, lasted nearly 7 hours (with a few rest stops) and the children amazingly walked 11 miles in total – a superb effort.  There was lots of moaning and groaning but great life experience and skills picked up learning about the local flora and fauna!

Mr Aspin was our designated orienteering person for the day and we didn’t get lost and were injury free (apart from a few nettle stings) so it’s been a successful day. Mr Farry and Miss Warbrick are probably more tired than the children are…
