Park Primary School has been celebrating their third Autism Awareness Day. The children have come to school in “ Light up Blue “ and some children have made their own t- shirt designs which look amazing !
The autistic spectrum disorder is now known as the autistic spectrum condition (ASC). Children at Park sometimes struggle with social communication and their senses can be over loaded. With this in mind Mr Farry and Mr Burton organised a multi skills trail designed especially for children with autism. The activities were chosen to help the balance and motivation of children with ASC.
Throughout the day all of the children took part in activities that helped them to understand a little bit more about autism. Mrs Turner held an assembly at the beginning of the week and was very impressed by all of the children’s contributions.
