Today the children in year 6 had a visit from Brian Souter from Money Mentoring. The children discussed what income was and learnt all about income tax. We looked at skills needed for jobs and how those related to the pay scale. It was a fun interactive session with the children guessing what they thought each job role’s salary would be. We were amused  to learn most children thought teachers were paid £2500 a year!

A special thanks to Brian (AKA Professor Branestawm) who must have had a high caffeine intake prior to class, such were his energy levels throughout the day – he was practically skipping around the classroom.  He made the children giggle lots during their learning – which is very important!
