This afternoon, our Year 4, 5 and 6s (both boys and girls) walked to Holt House and participated in the annual local cluster Cross Country race.  The circular route, which is 1.2 miles long, was packed with runners.  Both events (boys and girls) had up to 100 runners participating in each.  The grueling course took its toll on many of the children and there were tears of exhaustion at the end.  But all great experience for the youngsters.

Our boys faced some tough competition, we had one placed in the top 25 and 2 more narrowly missing out within the top 30.

Ours girls did amazing with positions as high as 3rd and 4th.  Our younger Year 4 girls were particularly impressive out pacing so many Year 6 girls from other schools.

An amazing overall effort from the school who now look forward to taking 3 children to compete in the County Finals at Burnley in June!

Hi, my name is Mr Farry and I’m a Year 5 teacher. After spending a few years at Park, I consider myself very much part of a great team in a great school.I am now the P.E coordinator, which is great as I am a very active person and love sport. This is reflected in my class, whereby I ensure the children receive lots of physical activity in a week.
