Yesterday, the Year 6 children spent the full day learning all about the Chinese New Year which begins on the 1st of February and this year it is the Year of the Tiger. The immersion days links to our Global Theme for the half term (Identity and Diversity).
The children story mapped and then retold the traditional story of the Chinese Zodiac, they then completed a mystery quiz (linked to maths) on the topic and finally completed a D&T project creating a pop up card with their typed up stories within.
As you will see from the photos, the children thoroughly enjoyed the day and will completed their D&T project this afternoon.
The cap all this off, their are some special people visiting the school on the 9th and 10th of February for the full day to complete a Chinese Zodiac workshop, every class will receive a 35/40 timeslot to learn and perform a dance routine linked to the Chinese New Year!
